Just one day after S&P lowered the country’s credit rating from AAA to AA+, Congressman Chris Gibson called for President Obama and the Senate to reconsider the Cut, Cap, and Balance bill. CC&B passed the House on July 19, 2011 but died in the Senate just a few days later and as stated by Majority Leader Reid it “is now over. It’s done, dead.” Hoping to revive CC&B Congressman Gibson released the following statement regarding the downgrade:
